Hello and welcome to Let's Dall Pookieoman. The only show you need to master the art of Pookieoman. Let's go, baby. Um so look, thank you for tuning in. Uh this is just a short update, I think. Um as always with me is uh Luke Ten. I say as always, we'll we'll find out in a minute in a minute, but uh as always Luke Luke 10 is uh on the podcast, he's he's in the studio and uh he's bringing some energy today, which is uh always nice. Uh happy new year, my friend, how are you?
SPEAKER_00:Happy New Year, yeah. I'm not bringing uh that much energy. Um it's uh I don't know when you listen to this, but it's currently January. Um we are we are hidden in our homes in a very cold uh in a very cold England at the moment. Um but yeah, it's been a good Christmas period. I feel like uh I completely lost track of what day was what. Um don't know about you, but I suppose it's that kind of time in between Christmas and New Year.
SPEAKER_01:And I think I think it's a result of your wild lifestyle, to be fair. Um the you know the you know the gooch period between Christmas and New Year's, that kind of in between. Well, you were up to quite a lot there, weren't you? You were out and about making the most of it. I think I think I saw that you were at the dance. Is that is that right?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, yeah, I went to the dance twice, in fact. Um so you know, it could be just my voice has just been poor since then from all the shouting and drinking beer. Um but yeah, that was good fun. We it did remind me of our our walk-on, dance walk-ons that we did for the Meet the Presenters at back what probably a couple of years ago now.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, that's that's a flashback, in it. Did you um did i is it true that Luke Littler pulled you over and said, Oh my god, Luke 10, the original Luke?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, he did he did say that there's a few famous Luke's in the world at the moment, but um he said Luke Littler said, you know, I'm I'm I'm third. Uh he didn't he didn't go on to say who was top two. Um but yeah, there's only one answer really, isn't there?
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. Is it true he's got a VIL lounge for uh very important Luke's?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, he did he did give me give me the invite and said bring along a plus a plus one L. Um so yeah, I might take uh I might take you or I could take my my pod son, um, whose name also begins with an L.
SPEAKER_01:He's uh he's very grateful for his gift, by the way. And uh I'll make sure I'll send you a photo of it, a giant giant dinosaur that's bigger than him with uh human limbs, might I add. So it's a dinosaur head with human limbs. It's kind of looks like there might be a small person living inside of it, to be honest. It's kind of terrifying, but equally kind of cute.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, it's uh yeah, it's a football mascot, it's got someone in there.
SPEAKER_01:Well, look, I have to be honest, I I I do appreciate you showing up for your your pod son. Um it's more than you showing up for me, uh, which does a lot really. So uh thank you.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, that's how it should be.
SPEAKER_01:Um so look, let's let's just dive into this this this short episode. I think we're we're taking the time just to let everyone know that there's some some good episodes coming for 2026. Um, as always, we've got a nice little bank being built. Uh Aaron, our sound guy, is is currently working through the backlog and um getting them ready for your ear pleasure. Some highlights may include uh what what we've got, we've got a sips tutor who gives us some very very good insights. We've got an update on the assignment modules, and we should have hopefully very soon have um the final result. So will will will Luke 10 qualify or is he destined to fail? And that kind of coincides with um kind of one of his big life updates, which we'll we'll hear from in a minute, so uh stay tuned. And then we've got a wonderful episode where Luke 10 has dug out some exam papers from the past, and we're not talking 2021, we're talking 1993, which um for those of you who don't know Luke 10, that's actually the year his granddad was born. So uh really ancient, and um I think you said it's not even called the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply, is that right?
SPEAKER_00:It's called uh uh the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. Um and yeah, yeah, we're gonna we're gonna try and work out how to get an episode out of that. Um but yeah, if you're interested to know what Six was asking back all the way in the prehistoric uh prehistoric era, then yeah, stay tuned.
SPEAKER_01:It feels like a maybe that's procurement says no, kind of why do they hate it so much is the kind of you know that era would have been the sort of exams that they sat through, and maybe they were maybe they were shocking questions back then. So, uh whilst we uh you know keep this uh episode short and sweet, like like we tried to do but never succeed with all of our other episodes. Do you want to provide a life update for the listeners?
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, a quick life update is that uh I'm taking a sabbatical uh from proper work. Um I'm going to do some travelling in Central America, Central and South America. Um so yeah, the notice has been put into uh to LTP Incorporated Industries. Um and yeah, I'm just just waiting for my final day now, waiting for my final payment, um, and then I'm gonna go off go off travelling.
SPEAKER_01:So I have to be honest, the notice has actually been rejected, and uh we're gonna set you up with a mic and make sure that you're working abroad um for below minimum wage as as expected. Um but no, obviously, like congratulations, I think that's great news. Think you need to go and find yourself on a mountain in um Texas and uh Name of Clubs are not in Central or South America. Is it not in Central America?
SPEAKER_00:No, it's North America. Is it not in the South of America?
SPEAKER_01:Okay, but I'm not going there.
SPEAKER_00:Well, not that I know of.
SPEAKER_01:Are you gonna do an LTP tour? So we obviously know where the listeners are based. Um, broadly speaking. So we could you could you could hop from state to state or country to country based on where the listeners are.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, I can only stay in places that we've had we've had listeners from.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, so N Nicarag Nicaragua, Djibouti. Um where else have we had listeners?
SPEAKER_00:The thing the thing about that is uh is we can see roughly where the continents well we can see the the the views for country and and continent and South America is one is probably the lowest, I think, out of the all the continents. So I'm seeing it as a bit of a a promo promotion tour. Like I'm going to do some uh advertisement then.
SPEAKER_01:Like when you went um like when you went to the darts and didn't hold up a sign saying LTP rules. Yeah, yeah. You bottled it.
SPEAKER_00:I know. It's always next year.
SPEAKER_01:So are you gonna explore Djibouti?
SPEAKER_00:Uh that's in Africa, I'm pretty sure, so probably not.
SPEAKER_01:You just never know where it's gonna take you, right? Um or that place that our friend's from, um up the the north of South America. What's it called? I always forget it, it's uh proper random, but um I'm just gonna leave it here this one. No, come on, you know exactly where it is as well.
SPEAKER_00:The northern the northern South America.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. I'm gonna get a map up. No, we know that um we know that girl from there. Suriname.
SPEAKER_00:Oh yes, yeah. Yeah, I might go there, why not?
SPEAKER_01:Yeah. I heard there's um good people over there. We know that girl from there. That one girl, yeah. And uh if you go to Guiana, by the way, make sure you avoid French Guiana. You want to go to Guyana, not French Guyana. There's a distinct difference between them.
SPEAKER_00:Is that a personal experience?
SPEAKER_01:No, never been.
SPEAKER_00:Okay.
SPEAKER_01:Just feel like I need to give you some words of wisdom. Uh even though I know nothing about South America, really, as you can tell by me thinking you're going to Djibouti and Texas. Yeah. Uh so yeah, Luke Ten will be will be uh leaving, but not leaving. So you'll still be hearing his voice throughout the year. We've still got you know a bank of episodes and things like that. I think what it probably does mean is he's going to be less responsive for all you listeners who like to reach out to to Luke 10 directly and get you know specific requests from him. And I think if there's any episodes where we're responding to real-time current events, uh it might be a solo from me, or I might have to find a Luke 20. Um but I don't really want to replace you though, because the sabbatical does mean you are returning at some point.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, yeah, I will be returning, and I I do, I mean, with with all my best intentions, I do intend to uh to carry on and record a few episodes, but obviously when I'm in the in the jungle and and uh don't know what kind of levels of of signal and privacy I'll have, you know. Maybe I could just walk into the jungle and record an episode. That's what I have to see. Quick question.
SPEAKER_01:What's your um baggage allowance? Um quite a lot. Why would you Well I know I'm trying to understand if you're one bag in it or if you're gonna take three suitcases. Oh no, no, no, just one. Just one. Just left on the edge. We do an episode on how to procure a bag of uh travel gear. Tell me what you're doing and how much it's gonna cost.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, we can do although that that makes us think more about purchasing, doesn't it? So maybe we want to move away from that. Maybe we'll have to do like procure a visa or something, I don't know.
SPEAKER_01:No, look, I think I know we we slate purchasing all the time, right? We say look, that's that's we're not just purchasers, but I think sometimes you have to take it back to the the bread and butter. The uh the login on Amazon and bread pressing by. Like that's that's the maybe that is the core of who we are. And um, you know, you can talk me through your kit and tell me where you've gone expensive, where you've gone cheap, and uh maybe six months in you can give us an update on what's been useful and uh what's let you down because you you just went too cheap on it.
SPEAKER_00:Yeah, one of the first things I remember us us uh talking about when I first uh met you was what was it, some sort of gadget thing. What's the what's the term? Oh, don't get me started.
SPEAKER_01:Acronym EDC. EDC was the same role. Everyday carry. And uh it's basically how can you set yourself up as light as possible to be as efficient as possible. So uh you get yourself a nice little sling bag, you can get kind of these compressed bags that you just whip out. You've got me started now. All of these things, you know, uh an adaptable knives every single country in the world. Yeah, it does include knives, yeah. I wouldn't suggest taking those on an aeroplane.
SPEAKER_00:No, you're probably right. Yeah, anyway, that's my uh that's my quick update.
SPEAKER_01:Yeah, so uh anyway, look, listeners, we hope you are well. If you do have any messages for Luke before he goes, get them in. We've got probably about six weeks by the time you listen to this before he goes, and uh he will make sure he answers all of them uh every single question that you send in. And uh also if you've got any episode ideas that you would like to see this year that you haven't quite seen yet from us, uh other than the procurement life cycle, because as you know, we do one episode every six months on that. If you're lucky. Um, so yeah, I just wanted to wish you all a very, very, very happy new year. Uh, we hope you had a festive break if you had one. Um but yeah, we hope you're doing well and uh thank you for listening, thank you for subscribing, thank you for just engaging with us really, and we look forward to uh more success in 2026.
SPEAKER_00:See you later.
SPEAKER_01:See ya later,
